Funding grants script

Investing in films script

Hello, we are going to talk to you today about the different ways a product can be funded.

The question that people often ask is, why invest in films?

You could get 25 years with huge uplift potential, Appear as a film extra and attend VIP events and get named in the film credits.

The BFI is the lead agency for film in the UK. The BFI Film Fund has a number of funding strands, investing over £26m of Lottery funds per year to support film development, production and distribution activity in the UK.

Film4 is Channel 4’s film production arm invests £15 million annually in developing and financing films for theatrical release in cinemas, working collaboratively with filmmakers and usually in partnership with other funders.

Pinewood pictures funds film and TV productions, on behalf of the Isle of Man Media Development Fund (£25m) and The Welsh Government's Media Investment Budget (£30m).
Pinewood Pictures has a range of funding options available to UK film and TV productions, including equity finance investment, gap finance and discounting of pre-sales and the UK tax credit.

A way that films can get funding is through people making pledges

One example of a film that is still in the editing phase and has got pledges from there consumers is a film called Enemy of Man

Hundreds of people have invested money ranging from $1 to 3 people investing $10,000. The more money that is pledged the better the benefit for the pledgee.

If you invested $15 you would get a digital copy of the film when it comes out and a copy of the script but if you invest $2000 you would get a set visit and a picture with the cast.

The three backers that pledged $10,000 get the title as co-producer where they will receive all the other rewards as well as having their name appear in the film credits and on IMDB and this is without contributing to the production of the film.
